The title of this movie has to be an ironic one for it refers to the musical version of "La Terre et le Sang" which was performed by the same actress who played Marie-France in the '70's movie. I saw the original "La Terre et le Sang" in the theatre in 1977 and it was the best musical of all time. Not only that, it was an excellent movie as well, with an excellent plot, incredible acting, and terrific direction. In the past, Hollywood has been blamed for portraying and selling women as objects of sexual desire. So, what's new? Why should movies like "The French Connection" or "The French Connection II" be so negatively criticized? Hollywood is now seeing that it can no longer single-handedly blame it's villains for their crimes. Those who commit the most heinous crimes have to pay a heavy price for the crimes they commit. And the movie "The French Connection" is one of the best movies to show how and why the French know how to cheat and lie. But that is not all. There is also "The French Connection II" which is the sequel to the original movie. It is about a group of French students who is asked by a French teacher to help him break into a bank. When this is said, a French student named Pierre (Pierre Belmondo) decides to help him. But, as the story goes on, the story takes a turn when one of the students "William (Paul Gaultier)" says that he knows the teacher. Pierre, not knowing that this is the same teacher from the original movie, is asked to help his friend by his teacher. The final scene will show which one is the mastermind. Watch the movie for the terrific acting by all the actors and actresses. You will not be disappointed. If you want to see a good movie, go see "The French Connection II" instead. "The French Connection II" is a great movie that even American and European viewers can enjoy. I have a copy of the original French movie. If you do, I recommend you to go and see it. That is, of course, if you are willing to do so without the use of any advertising, or any special effects.
