I was fortunate enough to see this film at the San Francisco Film Festival last night. It was well-received and well-performed, with no apologies, including the choreography. I enjoyed it for the first-and only-time, and felt a great deal of emotion for the two young women who were treated so poorly by the movie-makers. Their parents were very upset with the movie, as well. This story-telling technique of film-making has evolved in recent years, and many of the stories told in this film are more meaningful than they were in the past. I was particularly impressed with the story of Marjorie (Maria Belle) and her friend, Jean (Nastassia Kinski), whose parents are heavily influenced by their Christian faith. Marjorie is not happy at school because her father has been "the one" all her life, and has turned her back on her friends because he wants to be a pastor. The two girls, in the film, are forced to confront the fact that she is in love with her father. The story is told in a very soft and innocent way, and for the most part is very touching, and the end is tragic. The music is very nice, and very touching, particularly the one where Marjorie is singing to Jean. I think this is an excellent film, and one that will be appreciated by many people, especially people who are fans of Maria Belle. The people who attended the screening at the festival were very excited to hear the story of Jean and Marjorie. I can't wait to see the film again, and I'm very glad it was made available to the public. I highly recommend it.
