For the first time in a long time, I can honestly say I am a fan of Hammer horror and while it may seem to be an odd thing to say, but they're quite good and deserved the IMDb's Best Horror Movie nomination for Blood on the Dumpster. Blood on the Dumpster is a non-linear narrative that is so successful at telling a story that the end of it would be its biggest downfall. The narrative consists of three stories that have no direct connection or connection to each other. They are: A teen named "Billy" (Bobby Jay) and his friend Billy's mother (Marlene Mulrooney) are invited to spend a week in the estate of the eccentric millionaire Arthur McGavin (Jimmi Simpson) on his yacht in the Bahamas. While there, they meet the eccentric man's son "Jake" (Dylan McDermott) and a mysterious "goddess" named "Dottie" (Elisha Cuthbert). In this first story, Billy and his mother get to see the star studded cast that included an entire stage production of G&S, a star studded acting troupe, and the present day cast of SAVING PRIVATE RYAN. In this second story, the three stories interweave, intertwining with each other to create a gory visual and a filmic sound that is superior to any other horror movie I have seen. In this third story, the three stories interweave to create a narrative that becomes very disturbing and yet extremely satisfying. The action takes place in a small town called Mound House. The town has a small population of 12 people and the main characters spend most of their time at the seaside resort owned by one Henry (Eric Stoltz) while they stay. Henry is obsessed with an undersea creature that is destroying his beloved ocean. The creature, known as "Turtleneck" is the size of a crocodile and the only way to defeat it is to keep it contained. However, Henry and his son want the creature and their mother to keep it under wraps so they can continue their vacations. The performances by the main characters were top-notch and I can see why they were nominated for the best horror movie award. I do have to agree with some of the comments that these three stories had to be cut together to make a coherent film. However, I do not believe that this should have taken place in the film because the film was so well made and not because of the plot. I do think that the three stories should have been made into a single film because they were
