Description CROWN VIC takes us on one memorable night in the life of veteran patrol officer Ray Mandel and his trainee, ambitious rookie cop Nick Holland in LAPD's Olympic Division. With two cop killers on the loose and hunting for more targets, Mandel and Holland must contend with a city about to boil over, as well as Jack VanZandt, an unhinged rogue cop out for payback running wild in their patrol zone. As the night wears on, Mandel finds himself in a desperate race against the clock to find a missing girl as he and Holland prowl the dangerous streets of LA in their police car, protected by only a few thin sheets of metal and glass.

There's been a steady stream of so-called thrillers lately that are either the same old tired formula or simply take itself too seriously to have any real point. I'm going to make my own cut of the bull and call it a wonder of modern cinema. The film was released in the same year as the early 90's 'Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia' and was described as 'the worst film of the year'. I'm not sure if that is true, but that's the point. The film is not bad, not in the least. It has a sense of style that feels just a little bit too old school for today's standards. The cast do a great job with the material they are given, with Tom Everett Scott and Christopher Walken taking the lead roles. I have never been much of a fan of Walken, but he does a good job here. The rest of the cast, especially the female lead, aren't given much to work with. The script by Scott and Michael Wadleigh is good. It is not brilliant but it's a fair and decent piece of entertainment. It is clear that Scott's style of writing is evident here, with his trademark descriptions of the world and his conversational style of speaking. The film works because of this style. I also enjoyed Scott's directing in this film, it felt like he was in the middle of the action, his style is evident. The pace of the film is not fast but it moves at a good pace. The cinematography and direction is great, as you would expect from Scott, and the music is also very good. The music is not the focus of the film but the story does play out like a good thriller. The film is made a little bit slow, but it's not overlong. The ending of the film is not predictable but is still satisfying. The film was made for a very specific audience, people who like thrillers and action. I found it to be a good watch, not great, but a good watch. I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, but I would certainly recommend it to the people that enjoy thrillers and action. I enjoyed this movie, but it could have been better. I enjoyed it, but it could have been better.
