Description Joel (Alessandro Nivola) lives a solitary existence, rarely straying from his narrow routines of working in a landfill and going through the motions of getting through the day. He faces emotional and psychological upheaval with the arrival of Will, his ten-year-old son whom he has never met. The boy, who has been abandoned by his mother, weighs 250 pounds, is diabetic, and needs serious care -- attention Joel may not be capable of giving. Their collective pain, in the face of an indifferent world, could be crushing. Together, they embark on a journey of survival.

It's really a big thing when a film is so great, but so self-consciously so that it feels like the director didn't want to use his own name. This is one of those films. It's full of style, the style of Steven Soderbergh. He tells us that he's got "action, adventure, suspense, laughs, tears, and a heart.and a hell of a lot of belly." The most fascinating part of this film is that it's very nearly unrecognizable from what I saw the first time. It's a thoroughly enjoyable film, and I'm not just saying that because of the costume. Even if it's unrecognizable, the other characters are so well written and the script so intelligent that it's easy to believe they are real. There are scenes that are so wonderfully funny, it's almost unbelievable. I was watching a Canadian TV show, and a woman said, "We should call it "Soderbergh." She was saying it to illustrate that a certain character (who looks like Soderbergh) can be the name of a Canadian TV show. I'm not even kidding. The characters are almost cartoonish, but they are so well written that it's impossible not to believe they are real. The man who played the character of John Maclean was one of the few actors who could pull it off. If this film weren't nominated for an Oscar, I'm sure it would be hailed as one of the worst films of the decade. This film is very much like an artistic achievement. It's easy to forget that it's being judged as a motion picture. Soderbergh, who seems to be everywhere in the art world, is in his own world. He's in it all the way. The film's humor comes from its simplicity. It's what you would expect from a small film. It's all about one man's search for true love. That's all there is. There's no sexual content or even nudity. This film is for the most part, a beautiful film, and I think that's what makes it so powerful. I think it's the kind of film that is really good for a one time viewing. It's not even that great for repeated viewings. It's a beautiful film that is full of life, and it's hard to dislike it.

I loved the movie but this is a movie that needs to be seen by the whole family and I will be a little bit upset if you are not a fan of Tony Scott. I am not saying that he is a genius but he does a very good job of bringing a slice of life to the average person who has not lived their life in a real sense. The movie is also made to encourage the idea that you don't need to go through life without having joy. There are few movies that deal with the joy of living and this movie fits that bill. The father is a dead beat, a junkie and has no clue how to care for his children. But then he meets Maria and his life changes. There are a few great scenes in the movie that include a naked cat in the shower and a close up of a rat running down a hallway. Another great scene is when Tony does a street talk with the police chief and his officers. It is a great scene and also in the movie when Tony tells Maria that he doesn't think that she is his daughter and that he is a child. There is also a scene where Tony tells Maria that he has a dead child and that he is going to tell her the truth. And he tells her that he doesn't love her anymore. Tony's son, Nathan, plays the brother in the movie and he is very good in the movie. He is a strong and wise young man who is going to become a young man who will follow his dream. Nathan and Maria make a great team and their relationship is very believable. I would recommend that everyone go to see this movie. I give this movie a 9 out of 10 because I felt that it was a little bit long but overall it is a great movie.
