Description The Third World War is on the horizon. Despite attempts at nuclear deterrence, the threat of atomic bombings between North Korea and the United States is bringing the world's population back into a Cold War-like climate. In the small town of Baie-St-Paul (Quebec, Canada), Pier-Luc is afraid: afraid of dying, of course, but, above all, afraid of dying before he could make love for the first time. With his buddies, Hubert and Samuel, he goes through "the summer of last chances" and takes drastic measures in order to lose his virginity - Before we explode.

I have been a fan of "La vie de Christe" for quite some time. I first watched it on a double DVD set with "Le jour de Paris" and "Le jour de Rennes" (which, incidentally, I have not seen in some time). I was impressed by the original version and, of course, by the sequel. I had no idea of what to expect from "Le jour de Paris" and, since I wasn't familiar with the author, I decided to wait for it to be released on DVD. I have to say that I was not disappointed! The original version was very charming and witty. I laughed a lot. The remake, on the other hand, is quite different. This version is not about the dog, but about the whole story of Christ and his journey to Jerusalem. It has some nice and subtle moments, but mostly it's pretty stupid. The first half of the movie is very good, especially the part where Christ and his mother go out to find a teacher to teach him the art of reading and writing. The second half, though, is a very serious and depressing film, which really makes me regret that I gave my money to see the original version. I can't see how anyone can be serious about the movie when it contains so many scenes of violence, terror, and poverty. The ending is very sad and depressing, and is not at all what I expected. It's just a very sad film. I have to say that the remake is very good, because it does not contain the same kind of messages. It has some good moments, but mostly it's just stupid. A must-see for all fans of the original version and a very good movie to watch when you don't have anything else to do.
