Historically based on the death of the American icon "Lone Star", "Northfork" is an interesting, if not completely accurate, depiction of the American Civil War. Though it is based on the actual events, the film offers the viewer a more accurate perspective on the war than would otherwise be the case. In many ways the film is a kind of historical "Victorian Romance", as it attempts to tell the story of a Southern girl named Mary Pickford and her journey to the North to live with her father, who was a Confederate soldier, in order to earn some money. Her father was a man of some means, and had some influence over the young woman, but he also had a heart, as shown by his initial attempt to free her from her father's plantation. Along the way she meets other men and ends up working as a nurse at the Union Army's Fort Dix, and the story ends with her accepting an invitation to a White House Correspondence Dinner for the president. What is most remarkable about this film is the way in which it portrays the character of Mary Pickford. In the film, Mary Pickford is presented as being a kind of naïve girl, who would rather remain in the South than to go back to the North. Her naivete is further exemplified by the fact that she is able to make friends with the white men of the Confederate army, and is able to make some money at their expense. However, Mary's naivete is ultimately revealed as her downfall. Throughout the film, her naivete leads her to a number of unpleasant situations, and she eventually learns to appreciate the men she is in relationships with. The movie is generally a character study, in that the viewer will come away with a feeling of empathy for Mary Pickford, and be able to see how her naivete leads her to be in a number of uncomfortable situations. In the film, there are a number of things that make Mary's character very interesting. In particular, Mary's relationship with her mother is particularly interesting, as it is also very interesting in that it is also very similar to the relationship Mary has with her father. Both women have to deal with their own feelings of abandonment by their mothers, and both women eventually learn to accept their mother's love. Mary's relationship with her father is also very interesting, as she begins to learn to appreciate the man he is, and also learns to learn to love him. However, despite this being a very interesting character study, the film suffers from a few major problems. First, the film is not completely accurate. While the film does provide the viewer with a more accurate view of the Civil War than would otherwise be the case, it is not always entirely accurate. For example, while the film shows Mary being on a train, the
