I have watched the documentaries that have made the rounds over the past couple of years on this subject. The stuff that they have been shooting for a while and finally a few days ago they released their follow-up documentary titled "Game Changers". The premise of the series is that it is still legal in the US to "gambling" and get money from a machine. However, the following may sound like I'm calling the cops on gambling and asking for my money back. It's not true. Not only do you not need to pay out any money, but you don't even need to win, as long as you lose. This is a huge problem that is going to get worse as time goes on. There are now 2 million addicts in the US alone. It's getting to the point where if you are addicted to gambling, you don't care how it's gotten you to that point. You don't care that you're addicted, as long as it's still going. I personally don't care how it got me there. I'm not into gambling at all, but I was once involved with a friend that was addicted. I have no idea how this story is going to end up, but I hope that the next time that the film makers do a follow-up, they make it very clear that it is illegal to get money from a machine. That would be a great start. To conclude, I'd like to say that this is not a film for everyone, but if you're into the gambling issue, you should watch it. It's good for those who are interested in the subject and also it gives a good look into how easy it is to get caught up with the gambling problem. You don't need to go out and buy a machine, you can get your money from a machine. The only real problem with the documentary is that it's a bit slow and not a whole lot happens. I'd recommend watching it to someone who is interested in the subject of gambling and the same for people who are interested in the subject of addiction.
