Driven is a fascinating film about a troubled youth that you never see on the surface. He's lost his mind. You never see him with his father and it seems like he's been hiding it from his mom for years. But he's the only son in a family of eight, all of whom are brothers and sisters. You don't know the reason why the father, James (James Caan), is so in love with his daughter, Beth (Sophia Bush) or how he feels about his own son, Sean (Seth Green). What you do know is that they are young, and their father has no idea. As we meet the family, you see the way they interact with each other. They are a family that is so dysfunctional that even the father is a bit disturbed. Then you see the circumstances that make up the family. James is a jobless actor who doesn't seem to know what he wants to do with his life. Sean is a "tough guy" who also doesn't know what he wants to do. Beth is the sister with a "real" job, but she is having problems with her husband. They are trying to find something to get them out of their families, and they are doing it at different ages. James is the son of an alcoholic father who is in the process of getting sober. He is also having problems with his wife, and a new man is coming in to help. These people are trying to pull them out of the dysfunction that is the family. When James sees the body of a man that he killed, he doesn't know what to do with the body. He tries to bury it but it keeps coming back up. It's kind of like a metaphor for the whole family. They are going through the same kind of problems. The people who are trying to pull them out of the family are trying to do it through their children, and that's the theme of the film. They are all the problems that the father is dealing with, and there is a family in the film that is dealing with the same problems. I don't want to give away too much of the plot because it is something you really have to see for yourself. If you have ever watched any kind of documentary, you've probably seen the same kind of problems in a family that is trying to pull people out of the family. I have to give this film an A-minus for having a really good message. I think it was the best documentary I've ever seen. You don't get a lot of that in film, especially with the subject matter. If you want to get a really good documentary, check out Blue Streak. There are similar subjects in this movie, and it is a much better movie.
